Darryll

Bifano

Woodworker

Darryll Bifano currently lives in Concord NH, where he has resided at the state prison for men since 2008. As a collaborator on Project Return, he crafted each frame used in the project in his prison’s woodshop. Darryll discovered his love of woodworking in an effort to give meaning to his incarceration. That search for meaning also led to his volunteer service with the prison hospice program, the psychological first aid/suicide prevention/peer support program, the inaugural OPEN SKY theatre program, and the music program and the Prison Resident Orientation program, which he helped design. He plans to transition his helping work from behind the walls to and through his re-entry, hoping to serve as an example of what is possible through support, good choices and right actions.
